Metalusa Industrial, the parent company of the "Metalusa Group", has incorporated a new subsidiary company, Metalusa CI, based in Abidjan, the capital of Côte d'Ivoire.
The establishment of the new subsidiary in Abidjan was sponsored by the Portuguese ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire, Dr Maria da Conceição de Sousa Pilar, and the event ended with a pleasant dinner.

The Ivory Coast subsidiary joins the other Metalusa Group subsidiaries: Metalusa Portugal, Metalusa España, Metalusa France, Metalusa UK, Metalusa Angola, Metalusa Mozambique, Metalusa Maroc and Metalusa Chile. To understand why the Metalusa Group made this investment in the Ivory Coast, we interviewed the Chairman of the Holding Company (Patrilar SGPS, SA), Alberto Cravo.

Q: Why are you investing in Côte d'Ivoire?
AC: Metalusa found an opportunity to respond to the growth in demand in this African market. From that moment on, the response followed the group's usual growth pattern.
Q: And what is that answer?
AC: Control of the companies in the "Metalusa Group" is held by the parent company, Metalusa Industrial, SA. The subsidiaries we set up in foreign markets have their own legal personality and autonomous assets in relation to the parent company, as is now the case in Côte d'Ivoire. In this case, unlike all the other subsidiaries, we have established a company with a local partner.
Q: Is there a particular reason for this?
AC: Our local partner is well-established in the market and operates in sectors that are economically interlinked with what we do. There was an opportunity and a desire to grow together, we carried out a market study and, as the conditions were right to go ahead with the investment, we did so.
Q: Will Metalusa Côte D'Ivoire compete in the Ivorian market in the same way as in other markets? Is this because you have a local partner?

Depois, oferecemos aos nossos clientes os equipamentos necessários em regime de venda ou aluguer. Além disso, disponibilizamos os nossos serviços locais de engenharia para responder às necessidades do cliente, quer no que respeita à preparação de obra, cálculos de estabilidade, acompanhamento dos trabalhos em frente de obra e todas as outras especialidades que forem solicitadas.
